In Honor Of Shelby....

A lot of you already know of my sister in law's recent battle with cancer. In honor of her strength and courage to smile in the face of adversity, I decided to grow out my hair and donate it to Locks of Love. I hope that it will give a young child somewhere the confidence and strength to smile in the face of their adversity. I'm so amazed at your strength Shelby. You are such an honorable person. You strengthen all our lives through your passion, humor and positive attitude. I wish I had been there to hold your hand and cry with you while you had your hair cut, but in light of your recent triumph over this cancer, let's smile together as we look to a bright future for you and your family. I love you, sister!

Way to go Andrea! That is great. You look so cute with the short hair too, can't wait to see it in person! What salon is that? I need to find a good one, and that one looks nice?

Hey! it's me, her sickly sister. Thanks so much for thinking of me, Dre.

For the record - I never cried about my hair. My daughters cut it and we cracked up. I don't want people to think that I cried. (you can check out the pics on my blog - shelbysjourney.bogspot.com) My cancer experience has been awesome and positive - and mostly from the support of my great friends and family - like andrea.

Love you, girl!

It's true. She didn't cry when her kids cut her hair. Sorry I gave the wrong impression. She's a tough chick with a heart of gold.
